Biography
Danny was educated at Woodlands School, Coventry, and started his rugby playing with Barkers' Butts and Coventry clubs. His first call-up to Enlgand duty was while he was still a Coventry player, against Argentina in 1997, when he scored a try. He is an accomplished line-out jumper, and has appeared more than 100 times in Zurich Premiership matches for former club Saracens and Bath. Danny was a 2001 Lions tourist, playing in all 3 tests againts Australia. He played in the 2003 World Cup pool match against Uruguay, where he sustained a broken hand which put paid to the rest of his tournament duties, although he did receive an MBE along with the rest of the England World Cup squad. The 2004 Six Nations game against Scotland saw him score his second test try. Danny was selected for the 2005 Lions squad to tour New Zealand in the summer.
